Today was one of those days that makes you appreciate your old car hobby.\u00a0 I have spent most of the day in the shed working on the Chummy, relining the clutch and resealing the rear main bearing carrier.\u00a0 This involved building up some worn metal with the MIG machining it back to standard on the lathe riveting the clutch plate and then modifying the tool to do the same on the flywheel.\u00a0 Lots of small achievable jobs.\u00a0 Also Herbert put a couple of threaded holes in the rear main bearing carrier to aid removal but they were stripped so I rethreaded them in the next size up but etched myself a note as there is no way I would remember the next time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly a minute silence for all those people trying to do similar work on post war cars and let’s hope it’s rain again tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
